I've tried these in different sizes and come to the conclusion the problem is the cut, not the sizing. They are a little bit short (and I'm short 5'4") and the waist is huge. But if I size down, then they're too tight and short at the ankles. The waist has a drawstring but it's not really comfortable if I tighten it enough to hold the pants up. The material is absolutely beautiful though, a substantial knit with gorgeous details on the sides. I so wish I could get them to work, but now I've tried S-M, and L and none of them are quite right. I think they could work for a more "apple" shaped body.
